IMPORTANT - This program locks the screen do not use CTRL-ESC or ALT-ESC
while you are running it. Always exit with ESCAPE or CTRL-BREAK.
If you do press CTRL-ESC / ALT by mistake then try using CTRL-BREAK to exit
(may take up to 20 seconds to exit)

There should be 3 programs contained within this archive which were all
compressed using the excellent LXLITE software (v1.15):
STARS.EXE Requires EMX 0.9a
A starfield Demo using mode-x in OS/2 Fullscreen. Can be controlled with
the keyboard. This starfield is viewed from the side (hard to describe - try
it).
STARSZ.EXE Requires EMX 0.9c
A starfield Demo using Mode-X in OS/2 Fullscreen. Also controlled by keyboard.
In this version you fly through the starfield (ie bog standard starfield)
This only requires 0.9c because i compiled it more recently using the new
release of EMX - theres no 'new' functions I needed EMX0.9c for.
TGOSM2.EXE Requires EMX 0.9a
This is a virtual screen demo of mode-X in Os/2 Fullscreen. It can be panned
with the cursor keys.
-------
This is my first attempt at coding some serious graphics stuff for OS/2. I
may attempt to write an Asteroids style game, and possible a platform
scroller in the genre of Sonic(tm) et al. Also if there are enough requests
a screensaver version of the starfield may be on the cards.
At the time of releasing these binaries I have only been writing C for about
2 months. I taught myself the basics in July 1996 and as yet haven't bought
any books on C (due to lack of funds :). Thanks to GNU people who do all that
kinda stuff.
My nickname on IRC is Volcane or Elizium (in #os/2 on undernet)
I run a BBS in the UK on 01993-705566 - +44 for outside UK
The BBS may be shutting down in October, also due to lack of funds :(
Current Email is :
elizium@btinternet.com } These two may be temporary but are valid until
volcane@btinternet.com } October 1996
CM-S.R.Baker@tees.ac.uk } this is my University address and may not be
} running outside term time
Webpage : None as yet - in the works.
